June 13, 2011

In 2010, Tea Obreht was named by The New Yorker as one of the twenty best American fiction writers under forty and she was included in the National Book Foundation’s list of 5 Under 35. The Tiger’s Wife was one of the most talked about and widely anticipated debuts in recent history.  At 25, Obreht is the youngest person ever to win the Orange Prize. To see the complete long and short lists for the 2011 Orange Prize, see our post from May 18th here.

The Orange Prize was established to recognize fiction  by women and is open to any woman writing in English.
