F. Scott Fitzgerald’s Great Gatsby Coming Back To The Big Screen

November 17, 2010

The last time The Great Gatsby was in theaters it was directed by Jack Clayton and starred Robert Redford, Mia Farrow and Bruce Dern. Time for an update. In development for a release in 2012 is a version to be directed by Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge, Romeo & Juliet) starring Leonardo DiCaprio (Inception, Shutter Island and the upcoming Devil In The White City) as Gatsby, Tobey Maguire as Nick Carraway and, just announced, Carey Mulligan (Never Let Me Go, An Education) as Daisy Buchanan.

But really. Can any film version be as good as the book?
