Yale Poet Wins Jackson Prize…and $50,000!

Yale University professor Elizabeth Alexander won the first annual Jackson Prize given out by Poets & Writers, Inc.–the nation’s largest non-profit literary organization serving creative writers. Alexander, author of 4 books of verse, was a Pulitzer Prize finalist in 2005. Alexander’s books include: “American Sublime” “The Venus Hottentot,” “Body Of Life,” “Antebellum Dream Book,” and “The Black Interior.”
