2007 Man Booker Prize Longlist Announced

The Man Booker Prize honors “the best novel of the year written by a citizen of the Commonwealth or the Republic of Ireland.” This year’s Longlist has 13 titles with 4 books by first-time authors. The Shortlist will be announced on Thursday, September 6th and the winner will be announced on Tuesday, October 16th in London. The Man Booker website has a new look to it with some new features including an online magazine with author interviews and news as well as a debate section where readers can discuss books. UK bookmakers have Ian McEwan’s On Chesil Beach as the odds-on favorite to win.
